Being colourful has now become the trend for beds. Subtle hues and shades are certainly out of the picture while bold and glaring colours are now rising in popularity. Stripes are also more popular than other patterns.  One way of putting colours in your bed is through a mix and match of pillows with different colours.  Pillows are now very easy to find in department stores and malls.  You can even make and design your own pillows.  The decorative pillows available in department stores and shopping malls also offer a variety of shapes, sizes, materials and design.  The pillows can start reflecting the overall colour or motif for the bed but the chosen colour should also be supported by the overall room design.  The colours or shades should be consistent with the covers, sheets and rugs.

Beds with pocket and coil springs have also increased in popularity.  More and more consumers, whether married or single, are also preferring larger bed sizes.  Bed headboards can also be either attached directly to bed or attached to the wall.  A mixture of rich bright colours such as orange and green, blue and yellow add sophistication to the entire bed design.  These rich colours for the bed perfectly match a neutral shade for the walls, floor and other bedroom furniture.  Pillows with stripes are also great choices.  You may also opt for the decorative pillows with buttons, embroidery, textured fabric or ribbons.  Keep other bedroom accessories or furniture minimal, to focus all the attention on the bed, the bedroom’s centrepiece.
